Kindergarten Staggered Start 2022

During the first two days of the 2022–23 school year our elementary schools will implement a “staggered” start for kindergarten students. The staggered start will ensure that every child will begin school feeling comfortable with their surroundings and become familiar with school procedures.

Approximately one-half of your child’s class will attend on Wednesday, August 10th, and one-half on Thursday, August 11th. On your assigned day, your child will be part of a smaller group and will have the opportunity to experience the classroom routine, lunch, special area, and dismissal with a teacher close at hand. This smaller group approach will allow the kindergarten teachers to work one-on-one with your child.

All kindergarten students will begin attending class together on Friday, August 12th. Please note that official school hours are 9:10 am–3:40 pm.

Bus riders may ride the bus during the staggered start. In addition, students who are preregistered may attend extended-day on their staggered start day.

• Last Names Beginning with A—L: Wednesday, August 10th
• Last Names Beginning with M—Z: Thursday, August 11th
• All Kindergarten Students: Friday, August 12th
