Back-to-School Immunization Clinic

Back-to-School Immunization Clinic
Flagler Schools

To ensure that all Flagler County students have the chance to receive recommended immunizations on schedule, the Florida Department of Health-Flagler will once again present their “Back-to-School Rush” no-cost clinic. Services are available for children from 4–18 years of age. Students who are new residents of Flagler County and those entering kindergarten and 7th grade may need certain immunizations to comply with district requirements.

Families can easily schedule their student’s immunizations in the two-week period from July 25–August 12. Appointments are available Monday–Friday, 8:30 am–10:30 am and 1:00 pm–3:00 pm.

Two-Step Process

The Department has constructed a two-step process that requires clients to have all up-to-date documents with them upon arrival. If the staff must request additional documentation from medical providers, additional time may be needed.

Please bring the following documentation to your appointment:

  • Up-to-date immunization records for all persons needing services
  • State-issued photo ID for parents/guardians
  • Insurance or Medicaid Card (if applicable)

Once documentation has been collected by the Department of Health, the first step has been completed. At this point, you will receive a phone call within 24–48 hours to schedule an appointment to return for immunizations that are required/needed for each of your students.

School-age immunizations are offered free of charge through the federally funded Vaccines for Children program. In addition, the health department will seek parental consent to provide in-school clinics for influenza this fall and Tdap shots for sixth graders in the spring. Adolescent vaccines recommended by the CDC and the American Association of Pediatrics, including Meningococcal, and HPV, are also available at the health department.

During the "Back-to-School Rush," COVID vaccinations will not be scheduled and are not included as part of the Immunization series. Clients are encouraged to schedule COVID vaccinations after August 22.
